Data Security

We value your online security as much as you do. Propertyswap works continuously to protect the security of your account, and we take steps every day to provide a secure experience for our Members.Propertyswap complies with the European Law for Data Security. All data is sent over an encrypted connection from your browser to our server (HTTPS). You can verify this by checking that the lock icon is shown in the browser address bar. Furthermore we strive to always use the latest available security information to secure our servers, application, and other services to ensure your data is safe.Propertyswap does not store any financial data on our platform. All financial transactions are handled by our payment partner which is fully PCI (DSS 2.0 standard) Level 1 compliant, supervised by the Dutch Central bank as a payment institution and complies with all the requirements of the European Commission’s Payment Service Directive (PSD, 2007/64/EC).

Privacy Policy

The privacy policy is in conjunction with our General Terms and Conditions and Cookie Policy. We’re committed to your personal privacy and the correct collection and use of any personal data when using the Propertyswap platform, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) . This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, process, and communicate your information with your use of the Propertyswap platform, social media channels and payment services. If you see any undefined terms such as ‘property listing’ it has the same definition as our Terms and Conditions.

Personal data

Any information concerning a natural person, a legal person, an institution or an association, which is, or can be, identified, even indirectly, by reference to any other information, including a personal identification number.
“Swappers” or “Swapper” are natural or a legal person who have either posted a property on the platform or responded to an advertisement of a property. Swappers can be Members, non-Members or trial-Members of the platform.
Property listings: Any property that is uploaded onto Propertyswap and is available for permanent swap. Property listings include property photos, description, and address, and lots of more details.
Third-Party: Any affiliate service or independent service provider Propertyswap.net does business with. Some examples are: Legal advisors, other words for notaries, lawyers, law firms, consultancy firms.

What type of personal information does Propertyswap collect?

When signing up for a Propertyswap account, there are two categories of information that we collect. We ask for the following information as it’s necessary for the adequate use of the Propertyswap platform. Your gender, first and family name, email.

Information you give to us

Your personal information, such as name, telephone, email, address, will only be used by Propertyswap to contact you. This information will not be shared with the public.
Specific property details, for example, your original purchase price of the property, will not be shared with the public. For specific data, you can choose yourself if you want to share it or not. Propertyswap will have access to all your data. Propertyswap will also have access to the chat communication between yourself and other members and service providers.
Payment information: When paying for a membership plan, your bank details will only .
Login code and password are not visible to Propertyswap, this is an automated and encrypted process.

Information we automatically collect

When using the Propertyswap platform, we’ll collect certain usage information. This includes your IP address, browser type, language settings, date of account registration, date and length of your visit on the platform, the number of web sessions on the platform, the device(s) you use to visit the platform, the operating system of those devices and information about link clicks and pages you’ve visited. Propertyswap and our third-party services, such as our analytics partners, use cookies and other tracking technologies (e.g., web beacons, device identifiers, and pixels) to provide better functionality and to be able to recognize you across different services and devices.

Why does Propertyswap collect and use your personal data?

We collect and use your personal data to administer your account and to ensure the best use of our service as well as providing you with the ultimate user experience on your computer. We’ll also use that data to contact you and advise you through service emails and by phone. We use VOIP to call you (Whatsapp, Facetime, Skype). Any marketing communications will be sent on an opt-in basis from the user. We may also, either directly or through third-party companies and individuals we engage to provide services to us, review, scan, or analyze your communications with other users exchanged via our messaging system for fraud prevention, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, investigation, product development, research, and customer support purposes. For example, as part of our fraud prevention efforts, Propertyswap scans, and analyzes messages to mask contact information and links to other websites. This helps to prevent fraudsters from asking tenants to send them money outside of the Propertyswap website, such as by bank transfer or other money transfer methods.

How does Propertyswap share your data with third-parties?

Under certain circumstances and conditions, we work with third-parties like Service providers, that we use in order to promote our web content to a broader audience. Service providers aim to drive users to an operator’s site/app (Propertyswap) with the aim of such user signing up. This means that the operator will be a controller in respect of such users once they have entered the operator’s site/ app (Propertyswap), but prior to this the operator has no relationship with the traffic that is being driven towards the Service provider’s site. No personal data is shared with our Business partners.
Third-Party Service Providers: We use service providers to process your personal data on our behalf. We use Service Providers for purposes such as sending marketing communications, validating your email and account details. Third-party service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and are not allowed to use or share your personal data for any other use than of those stated above. Payment Providers or (other) Financial Institutions: A Payment Provider is a third- party service we use to process payments related to the membership plan. In the case of a charge back that has already been processed, we need to share some banking information such as IP address and payment confirmation, with the payment service provider and financial institution so we can handle the chargeback. We may also share information with relevant financial institutions if we consider it necessary in the case of fraud protection and purposes.
The Personal data shared with Business Partners or other Third-party services are encrypted for the safety of the data processed.
Merger or Acquisition: We may share your Personal Information to a third-party who acquires any part of our business or the business of any of our Service providers, whether such acquisition is by way of merger, consolidation, divestiture, spin-off, or purchase of all or a substantial portion of our assets.

How does Propertyswap use Social Media?

Certain social media channels can be integrated with Propertyswap, these include Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Google, for creating and logging into your Propertyswap account. This is so you don’t have to remember many different emails and passwords. When a social media account is being used to register a new Propertyswap account, you’ll receive a notification from that social media channel relaying what information on your account Propertyswap will have access to. These settings can be amended by the user through Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram. Any information given through contact made by the user with Propertyswap through Facebook Messenger will also be processed with third-party service providers.

How can I review and control the personal data collected by Propertyswap?
You always have the right to access and review your personal data that we have about you, you can ask all the personal details you inserted when you created your Profile, by clicking ‘Edit Profile’ or by sending us an email to: support@propertyswap.net
